A Word About Broken Links: Unfortunately, broken links – sites that are temporarily or permanently unavailable for access – are one of the biggest headaches for Web users. Cybermommy makes a
concerted effort to ensure the resources provided on this site are current, but since rapid change is a hallmark of the Web, it’s likely some of these references will not link successfully at any given time. This is
particularly true of referrals to specific articles from online publications. Here are some things you can try when a hyperlink fails:If you get an error message that the requested file can’t currently be
located on the server, it may be a temporary glitch. Try again later. If you are still getting an error message after several attempts, the reference or site may no longer be extant.
Some sites leave a forwarding address when they move – follow the links to see if you can get through to the resource you are seeking. If you are trying to access a particular article or Web page within a larger
site and get a failure message, try limiting the URL to a main section or key destination page of the site (in other words, delete the exact page locator
from the right end of the URL). You can then search the site’s archives by the date and/or title of the original reference.
